Plumbing, Bathroom & Boiler Installation Services in Redland
Redland is an affluent Bristol suburb, not far from the city centre, and packed full of amenities and things to do. It’s also very popular for student living, with many undergraduates moving into some of its Victorian properties that have been converted into flats.
Redland is bordered by the Severn Beach railway line in the south, and Cranbrook Road in the east, and to the west, there’s the popular Whiteladies Road. You can also easily access the buzzing Gloucester Road, which is lined with independent shops, bars and restaurants.
The origins of this Bristol suburb’s name are debated – possibly coming from Old English ‘rudding’ meaning ‘cleared land’, perhaps from ‘Thriddeland’, meaning ‘the third part of an estate’, or otherwise from ‘la Rede Londe’, due to the red colour of the soil.
Redland is known for the Redland Chapel, a Georgian parish church, and Grade I listed. The suburb also features a Swedenborgian church, Redland Park United Reformed Church, and Tyndale Baptist Church.
As well as Gloucester Road, Chandos Road and Zetland Road are well known for having some of the city’s best restaurants, including Greens, Wilsons, No Man’s Grace and Michelin star Wilks. What’s more, there is a selection of good schools, including Colston’s Primary School, Redland High School for Girls, Redland High Junior School and Redland Green School. Redland has attracted a healthy range of young families, single professionals and business owners.
